Tis the Houston Concert Season

Houston is going to enjoy quite an eclectic concert season the second half of 2018. The headliners of the headliners include genre-bending superstar Taylor Swift, the brilliant Kenny Chesney, and ageless rock gods the Foo Fighters.

Of course, those three concerts are just the tip of the iceberg. The artist queue is long and has something for anyone who has ever turned on a radio (err, or listened to Pandora).

Houston Concerts

The Icon Class

H-Town is going to get a chance to relive its youth with this group of shows.

Those who feel music was best in the 70s and 80s need to get ready for the Eagles (June 15) and Electric Light Orchestra (August 10).
Old school metal heads get their day with Judas Priest (April 29)
Slightly younger metal heads need to see Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson (August 18).
Gen Xers can get emotional with the Smashing Pumpkins, minus bassist D’Arcy (July 17).

The Up and Comers

The One Direction alumni group will be coming through separately.

Harry Styles is stopping by and sharing his name on concert tickets with Texas’ own Kacey Musgraves (June 7).
Niall Horan will follow Styles with his own dates for his solo tour (July 18).

Now, its not all pop.

Singer-songwriter Vance Joy will be stopping the Revention Music Center (May 20)
Alt-country sensation Jason Isbell will follow up and keep the melody going (July 18).

The Last Leg of the Tour

Houstonians will also have their last chance, ever, to get concert tickets to see a legendary group of performers, as these performers are all embarking on farewell tours.

Paul Simon is coming through on the aptly named Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour (June 2).
Elton John keeps the theme going with the Farewell Yellow Brock Road tour (December 8).
Ozzy Osbourne may just be teasing with No More Tours 2, which runs through 2020 (September 28).
Slayer refuses to apologize for anything on the Repentless tour. (June 17)
